Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” and Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman” each took five nominations while “Joker” and “The Two Popes” surprised somewhat with four.  “Parasite,” “Rocketman,” “1917” and “Knives Out” each landed three nominations.

Notable snubs included television programs “When They See Us” “Schitt’s Creek” and “Watchmen.”  “Uncut Gems,” “Honey Boy” and “The Lighthouse” all missed out on the film side. While “Little Women” earned nods for star Saoirse Ronan and its original score, it missed out on other major nominations including supporting actress.  “Ford v. Ferrari” earned only nod for Christian Bale‘s performance.

Notably, Apple TV Plus earned its first Globes nods for “The Morning Show” in the TV Drama category and for stars Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston.

Additionally, “Game of Thrones” ended its decade influencing run with a whiff earning just an acting nod for star Kit Harrington.
