Retro-Style Trailer For The New 'Halloween' Gives The History Of The "Boogeyman" Michael Myers

“The Boogeyman is real, and now, he’s back.”

The newest trailer for “Halloween” is perhaps the most simple, yet effective, of the bunch. Starting with grainy TV-style footage retelling the mythos surrounding Michael Myers and what he did to his sister and a few teens on those infamous nights, the trailer perfectly encapsulates what people can expect from this new sequel that looks to be the best since the 1978 original.

After the retelling, we get a police officer sitting with Laurie Strode (played by Jamie Lee Curtis) and you can tell that this isn’t the scared teen girl from 40 years ago. No, this is a strong woman that believes that Myers isn’t just some lunatic, but actually the Boogeyman. And now, she thinks it’s his time to finally die.

“Halloween” premiered as the opening film of the Toronto International Film Festival’s Midnight Madness program and received rave reviews. Many are hailing the Blumhouse Production as not just a great film in the franchise or horror film, in general. There are people calling it just one of the best films of the fall and worthy of its famous name.

Joining Curtis in the cast are Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, Virginia Gardner, and Nick Castle. The film is directed by David Gordon Green and written by Green, Danny McBride, and Jeff Fradley

“Halloween” comes to theaters on October 19.
