Given the secrecy around “Anchorman 2” aka “Anchorman: The Legend Continues,” you might think that Christopher Nolan was producing the movie. However, it’s a bit surprising that The World’s Hardest Interview, Harrison Ford, managed to open up about his role in the movie, in which he reportedly plays a “legendary newsman.” And for all he knows, he could wind up not being in sequel at all.
Telling Entertainment Tonight that the experience was “bizarre,” he shares that his time on set involved only a couple of the principal actors whose names he hilariously (intentionally?) can’t recall. “It’d be easy enough to cut out. I don’t think it’s critical… [It was] bizarre,” he said. “They weren’t all in the scene that I did. It was just [Will Ferrell] and the applesauce girl [Christina Applegate].” Amazing.
Even if he doesn’t make the theatrical cut, given that all the material left out out of the original “Anchorman” was edited together for a second “movie” (sorta) “Wake Up, Ron Burgundy: The Lost Movie” (available on the Unrated Rich Mahogany Edition Blu-ray, we’re sure we’ll see his performance one way or another.
Meanwhile, Paul Rudd recently stopped by “Conan” where he unveiled the first, exclusive clip from “Anchorman: The Legend Continues” and let’s just say it’s very different from what we thought it would be. Ron Burgundy is back on the air on December 20th.
