'Hoops' Trailer: Netflix's Raunchy Animated Series Wants You To Grab Life By The Ball

Earlier this year, Ben Affleck starred in “The Way Back” about a down-on-his-luck former athlete returning to the sport he loves, basketball, to whip a losing high school team into shape on their quest for glory and his own personal redemption. “Hoops” is basically that same story, but animated and with lots more sex and curse words. In Hoops, we follow the story of Ben Hopkins, the son of a legendary basketball icon that is hoping to use high school coaching as a springboard to bigger, better things, such as an infinity pool and tons of oral sex. You see, Coach Hopkins isn’t trying to get his lovable team of loser misfits to the championship so that he can learn something about himself and become a better person. Nope, for him, it’s all about fame, glory, and sex. Did I mention how horny this series is?

The Netflix series is yet another example of the streaming service utilizing adult animation to its fullest extent. Previously, Netflix found hit series with “BoJack Horseman,” “Big Mouth,” “Disenchantment,” and “F is for Family.” Adult animation is nothing new for Netflix and as the incredible number of F-bombs in the trailer for “Hoops” shows, the platform isn’t afraid to push the envelope.
