'Informers' Trailer Released, Watch At Your Own Risk

Based on the collections of short stories by Brett Easton Ellis and adapted by Ellis and Nicholas Jarecki, the “Informers” trailer was released last week, and frankly, it looks just a little on the depressing side. Neither Jarecki bros. has a credited screenplay before this and the Aussie director, Gregor Jordan has only a few indie films under his belt, one being the 1999 film, “Two Hands,” starring a young Heath Ledger.

An ensemble piece with quite a few names, the story follows seven troubled characters and their interactions in a morally bankrupt 1983 Los Angeles including, Billy Bob Thornton, Winona Ryder, Kim Bassinger, Mickey Rourke, Brad Renfro (in his last on screen appearance) and Amber Heard (Seth Rogen’s girlfriend in “Pineapple Express“)
Although the notable names in the cast are interesting, as are the short stories by Ellis, it seems like this picture could be a little too depressing and sprawling for the average movie goer (or the art-house movie goer for that matter). The Trailer starts out with promise, but quickly falls into confusing interactions of characters we don’t know, it could signal trouble for the film, which could easily fall victim to having to many stories and not enough character development. Also, lets face it, who doesn’t want to fill the bathtub with warm water and open their wrist after watching this trailer, we can only imagine what mood the feature length film is going to put us in.

Also, with that cast, is that not the worst poster you could possibly use?
