'Invincible' Trailer: 'The Walking Dead' Creator Takes On Superheroes In Amazon's New Adult Animated Series

In a world filled with DC and Marvel icons such as Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man, it’s tough to create a new, popular superhero. But back in 2005, with the launch of the “Invincible” comic book, that’s exactly what Robert Kirkman (“The Walking Dead“) did. He took all that was great about the power and stature of Superman, combined it with the everyday teen problems of Spider-Man, and then added some good ol’ ultraviolence for flavor. The result is one of the best superhero comic books of the past 20 years, and a brand-new Amazon animated series.

As seen in the teaser for the “Invincible” animated series, the show follows the exploits of the world’s newest superhero. The teen has always known he is going to be powerful, as the son of the universe’s version of Superman. But when he finally comes of age, he’s allowed to get his own suit and really put his powers to good use. But he quickly finds out that being invincible doesn’t make life easier. In fact, he has no clue the difficulty that truly lies ahead of him.

The voice cast is star-studded and includes Steven Yeun, J. K. Simmons, Sandra Oh, Mark Hamill, Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beetz, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, and Mae Whitman.
