Not too long ago, DC Studios co-CEO and “Superman” reboot director James Gunn announced that a new “Wonder Woman” movie was currently being written, sparking fans to come up with casting ideas for who should play the DCU’s version of Diana Prince.
Well, Gunn, while speaking with Extra, commented on the potential of hiring “Triple Frontier” and “Hit Man” actress Adria Arjona after fans spotted the two following each other on social media. Certainly someone on the rise thanks to global exposure from two seasons of the hit “Star Wars” series, “Andor.”

“I follow Adria on Instagram, but everybody came out [and said], ‘He just followed her, that means she’s Wonder Woman,’” Gunn sarcastically said in an interview with Extra. But added, “She’d be a great Wonder Woman, by the way…She was in a movie that I made seven years ago. We’ve been friends and have known each other since that time. I followed her then, I didn’t just follow her.”
What movie is Gunn talking about? Arjona appeared in “The Belko Experiment,” a bloody “Battle Royale” homage set in an office, which was directed by Greg McLean and written by Gunn, who also produced it alongside his new DC Studios partner, Peter Safran. It remains to be seen if those previous working relationships will ultimately be a reason that Arjona is considered for this new take on Wonder Woman, but the internet seems to be onboard for the selection.
That said, we don’t know exactly if Gunn is even on the hunt for a new Wonder Woman actress at this point, but like with the DCU’s Batman (briefly camoed in animated form for “Creature Commandos“), there is expectation that they both could show up in other projects before their new solo film adventures.
