People sure do love Jeff Goldblum. And honestly, watching his interviews, how can you not? Some might see his quirky, odd behavior as some sort of put-on act, but with Goldblum, all of his idiosyncrasies feel sincere. He’s just so damn likable. “I think there is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty,” Goldblum said. “I know I enjoyed working with him many years ago and I sat in with his band once too.”

He added, “Even though I feel like this cultural shift [the #MeToo movement] is very, very positive and long overdue and I support it wholeheartedly and take it very seriously, I also admire his body of work. So I would consider working with him again until I learned something more (negative).”

The debate over Woody Allen has been raging for decades, but over the last year or so has been front-page material. The filmmaker recently lost his massive deal with Amazon over the resurfacing of his decades-old allegations of sexual assault against a minor. However, there are many that defend him due to the fact that he wasn’t found guilty of anything in court. As of now, it boils down to either being someone that defends Allen because he had his day in court and wasn’t found liable or being someone that believes the victim full stop and feels that Allen has somehow gotten away with it.

Goldblum is clearly in the former camp. We’ll just have to see if that’s okay for fans of his that believe Woody Allen is a monster.
