Kevin Feige Once Again Denies Being In Control Of The 'Star Wars' Universe

No matter how many times Kevin Feige has to deny being involved with “Star Wars” behind-the-scenes stuff, outside of the film he’s producing that has already been announced, fans still don’t believe that’s the case. It’s almost like they see some sort of subliminal wink, wink when he says definitive things like “no” when asked about more “Start Wars.” So, yet again, in a new interview with EW, Feige is asked about future “Star Wars” involvement. And yet again, the producer says no. But somehow, we still think this isn’t going to be good enough for those folks hoping it’s going to happen.

Where does all this “Kevin Feige taking over for Kathleen Kennedy” energy come from? For years now, there have been (unsubstantiated) rumors that Kennedy was somehow being fired from Lucasfilm and replaced by the Marvel Studios president. While there is definitely a contingent of “Star Wars” fans that aren’t happy with Kennedy’s leadership when it comes to that franchise’s direction, the folks at Disney have come out in support for her time after time. And just because Feige is an avid fan of “Star Wars” doesn’t mean he’s going to leave behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe to clean up someone else’s franchise that folks think is in disrepair.

So, much like the Zack Snyder fans that swear WarnerMedia will give him hundreds of millions of dollars to finish his “Justice League” trilogy, even when the executives say it’s not going to happen, there will always be “Star Wars” fans that are anxiously awaiting the surprise revelation that Feige is going to take over their favorite universe. It’s exhausting.
