'LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special' Trailer: Rey Travels Through Time For Life Day In Upcoming Disney+ Special

You’re right, we normally wouldn’t cover the latest trailer for a LEGO TV special on Disney+. But given how stressful this week has been for most people, especially those in the United States that have been glued to your cable news channel of choice, taking a couple of minutes to forget all that and watch the trailer for “LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special” sounds like a good idea, right?

As an added bonus, the “LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special” looks pretty fun. The trailer showcases the story that, much like the previous ‘Holiday Special’ that George Lucas was not a huge fan of decades ago, takes place around Life Day. Except for this time, LEGO has gone ahead and made sure the latest ‘Star Wars Holiday Special’ throws everything you could possibly want out of the galaxy far, far away into one chaotic cartoon.

Do you want to see Rey travel through time and interact with Darth Vader, the Emperor, Luke, and Yoda? Great, you get it here! How about the possibility of time-travel hijinks involving multiple Han Solos meeting and joking about who gets to shoot first? Enjoy! And if you’re a ‘Star Wars’ fan that absolutely hated the shirtless scenes featuring Kylo Ren in ‘The Last Jedi,’ well, there are more here, but he gets made fun of, so that’s good, right?

All told, the “LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special” doesn’t look like it’s going to be some masterpiece and essential viewing for ‘Star Wars’ fans aching to learn even more about the galaxy far, far away. However, if you’re looking for some holiday cheer and a good distraction from the 2020-ness of everything, this isn’t such a bad idea.

“LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special” arrives on Disney+ on November 17.

Here’s the synopsis:

Directly following the events of “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” Rey leaves her friends to prepare for Life Day as she sets off on a new adventure with BB-8 to gain a deeper knowledge of the Force. At a mysterious Jedi Temple, she is hurled into a cross-timeline adventure through beloved moments in Star Wars cinematic history, coming into contact with Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Yoda, Obi-Wan and other iconic heroes and villains from all nine Skywalker saga films. But will she make it back in time for the Life Day feast and learn the true meaning of holiday spirit?
