Sean Penn To Write/Direct January 6th Cop Drama At WB With Bradley Cooper Circling Lead

Well, this is a rather big development, as Sean Penn (“One Battle After Another”) is set to drect an untitled drama at Warner Bros. focused on the events of January 6th as the Captial Police and other law enforcement were brutalized by a horde of violent Donald Trump supporters (after the President and cohorts stoked the crowd into storming the Capital Building) including groups like The Proud Boys (designated a domestic terorrist entitied by the Canadian government) and The Oathkeepers committing an insurrection on his behalf in an attempt to stop the official certification of the election by then sitting Vice President, Mike Pence (the rioters chanting “Hang Mike Pence” while his family was also in the building and had be escorted out by The Secret Service).

That’s not it, as Bradley Cooper (“American Sniper,” “A Star Is Born”) is now in talks for a lead role in Penn’s latest project, as outlined in a report hailing from Deadline. Instead of being a straight-up biopic, it is expected to be an amalgamation of cop stories from the Capital riots, rather than specifically telling the story of a single officer, and Penn is also tackling the script.

We imagine that Penn could be looking to put together a high-profile ensemble, and Cooper could be simply the first name to get involved. Who else will take on roles remains to be seen, but this certainly is giving off the vibes of something special, and talented actors could be lining up the block to work with the recent Best Supporting Actor Oscar winner.

Years later, the story gets even weirder as the bulk of the convicted insurrectionists were pardoned by Trump in his second term, only for a bunch of them to, as you suspect, reoffend with some of those crimes, including an attempted murder plot of FBI agents, manslaughter, sexual exploitation of children, and child rape. A who ‘s-who of vile criminal scum that were allowed to harm more people in the process, and all they had to do was voice their loyalty to Trump, and are now promising these violent offenders a billion-dollar slush fund where they can be issued millions in bogus “restitution” (we’ll see if Congress and taxpayers put up that latest criminal scheme to bilk the US Treasury of nearly $2 billion).

Trump is still relitigating the 2020 election via endless false claims and conspiracies that have been habitually laughed out of courtrooms. Sadly, there are concerns that he’s going to use ICE agents and USPS to intimidate and commit voter fraud himself during the upcoming November midterm elections, after spending years making bogus accusations of Democrats doing what he’s seemingly planning on doing himself in the coming months, fixing an election, and disenfranchising millions of American voters to stay in power (like any wannabe dictator would attempt).

Sean Penn is set to produce the pic with John Ira Palmer and John Wildermuth via their production banner, Projected Picture Works.
