The Cannes Film Market has another juicy project with high-profile talent going out to global buyers as the psychological thriller “Sender” is looking for buyers with an impressive cast that features Britt Lower (“Severance”), Jamie Lee Curtis (“Everything Everywhere All At Once”), Rhea Seehorn (“Better Call Saul”), and David Dastmalchian (“The Suicide Squad”).
This was revealed today by the folks over at Variety as Concourse Media has secured international rights to “Sender,” and others among the film’s cast include Anna Baryshnikov, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Ken Jeong (“Community”), and comedian Mike Mitchell, who has been part of the first two seasons of “Twisted Metal” and co-hosts the popular podcast “Doughboys.”
Russell Goldman makes his feature directorial debut by adapting his short film “Return To Sender,” which had starred “Fargo” series and “Krampus” actress Allison Tolman.
“Sender” follows a woman (Lower) who experiences an e-commerce package delivery scam that becomes so personal and disturbing that she becomes hellbent on discovering the identity of the anonymous sender.
Unlike most packaged deals heading to the French sales event next month, held alongside the Cannes Film Festival (many about to begin shooting or trying to secure financing to get cameras rolling later in the year), “Sender” is already complete and screened at SXSW in Austin, Texas, back in March. Curtis also produces the pic through her banner, Comet Pictures.
