“The Accountant 2”
Once again directed by Gavin O’Connor, in this thrilling sequel, the enigmatic accountant assassin, with a brilliant mind and less-than-legal methods, returns to unravel a complex web of financial deceit and corruption that eventually puts himself, his brother and Treasury Agent Marybeth Medina (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) in the crosshairs. Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal star again, along with Daniella Pineda, Allison Robertson, and J.K. Simmons.
“The Rivals of Amziah King”
This crime thriller, directed by Andrew Patterson (“The Vast of Night”), stars Matthew McConaughey as Amziah King, a charismatic figure in rural Oklahoma who faces threats from rivals in the honey-making business. The huge supporting cast includes Kurt Russell, Cole Sprouse, plus Angelina LookingGlass, Jake Horowitz, Scott Shepherd, Rob Morgan, Tony Revolori, Owen Teague and Bruce Davis.
“Summer of 69”
The directorial debut of comedienne/actress Jillian Bell, this comedy, which she also co-wrote, centers on an awkward high schooler who hires an exotic dancer to help her seduce her longtime crush before graduation. Chloe Fineman and Sam Morelos star alongside Matt Cornett, Nicole Byer, Liza Koshy, Natalie Morales, Alex Moffat, Fernando Carsa, Paula Pell, and Charlie Day.
“Mix Tape”
In Sheffield in 1989, teens Daniel and Alison (Jim Sturgess and Teresa Palmer) meet at a house party and bond over their love for music. The relationship they forge that night will follow them forever and leave them wondering what could have been. Twenty years later, they reconnect. Lucy Gaffy directs the dramatic romance and co-stars Florence Hunt and Rory Walton-Smith.
“American Sweatshop”
Directed by German cinematographer turned filmmaker Uta Briesewitz (known for her collaborations with director Brad Anderson), this mystery thriller delves into the dark side of social media through the eyes of Daisy Moriarty, a content moderator who stumbles upon a violent crime online. The film stars Lili Reinhart and Daniela Melchior, with supporting help from Joel Fry and Christiane Paul.
