Watch: Final Parody Trailer For Paul Schrader's 'The Canyons,' Movie Will Soon Screen For Distributors

nullWho knows what to think about Paul Schrader’s upcoming directorial feature, “The Canyons”? Penned by everyone’s favorite Twitter troll Bret Easton Ellis, and starring Lindsay Lohan, porn star James Deen and, erm, Gus van Sant, the Kickstarter-funded sexual thriller certainly has us intrigued if nothing else. After a grindhouse-style teaser trailer and a 1950s B-movie style trailer, we’ve now got another look at the upcoming film in what promises to be the final “parody trailer.”

You can watch the final trailer below, which this time is in the style of a 1930s comedy. Here’s the blurb from Facebook that accompanies it:

Last of the trailers (parody, that is). Nikolai Mentin, the editing intern who helped us out in NY, was kind enough to put together one last teaser, this is the style of the Thirties. It was fun teasing with these. People wanted images from the film and I didn't want to do anything definitive until a distributor was on board so these teasers were an interim solution. The film is now completed and the next step is to screen for multi-platform distribs.

Will those distributor screenings take place at Sundance? Park City would seem to be a natural fit for the movie, which has completely circumvented the studio system, and that’s also a message that the promotional material has been eager to get across. We’re sure it won’t be too deep into 2013 when the film eventually sees the light of day. Fingers crossed it will be as fun as it looks like it could be….
