And the night of non-stop teasers and clips ends with the grandaddy and most substantial of them all: “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” And even though it doesn’t open for another seven months, Lionsgate clearly feels like they have a big winner on their hands…
…and in keeping with that, the new trailer welcomes the victors from “The Hunger Games” and immediately gets the wheels spinning on where the story is going next. Even as this writer didn’t care much for the first movie, the sight of Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch Heavensbee (LOL) pulling some Machiavelian strings behind the scene to bring down Katniss Everdeen is actually pretty awesome. That said, the wigs are in full effect as are the mindboggling costumes, but perhaps most crucially, it looks like new franchise director Francis Lawrence believes in the tripod.
