Watch: ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Behind-The-Scenes Montage Plus Wally Pfister Talks Shooting ‘Insomnia’

nullYes, we’re still talking about “The Dark Knight Rises,” and with the Blu-ray release around the corner and the awards season in full swing, it likely won't be the last you hear of it. And indeed, a new peek behind the hood has arrived as the behind-the-scenes featurettes from the home video release have made it online along with another featuring cinematographer Wally Pfister talking about one of his earlier collaborations with Christopher Nolan.

First up is an 11-minute featurette (via /Film) dealing with the construction of major sets, including the new Batcave along with Bane’s prison and underground lair. It’s a pretty neat video that no doubt makes much more sense in the context of the actual Blu-ray.

Meanwhile, a video has also surfaced online compiling some of Wally Pfister’s commentary on the “Insomnia” Blu-ray that sheds light on his working methods with Nolan, namely their refusal to use shot lists and second-unit work. It’s pretty fascinating stuff on what’s probably Nolan’s most overlooked work (outside of “Following,” which is getting the Criterion treatment).

“Insomnia” is out on Blu-ray now and “The Dark Knight Rises” hits Blu-ray and DVD on December 4th. Check out the videos below.
