We suppose doing the product tie-ins for “Godzilla” wasn’t the easiest job in the world. You’d probably want your brand as close to the titular monster as possible, but that being said, whatever product is being hawked probably has a good chance of being destroyed. But that didn’t stop Fiat.
The company has gladly put their Fiat 500 in the path of the monster, with a new “Godzilla”-themed ad seeing the car put right in the mouth of beast. That’ll probably cause some indigestion. Meanwhile, a new TV spot basically does what it’s supposed to—get you damn excited to see this thing. Well done, Bryan Cranston. So what’s left? Oh, how about some pretty sharp graphic posters for the film (via IMP Awards), with WB finding a clever way around putting a monster on their posters without putting the monster on the poster.
“Godzilla” opens on May 16th.
