Netflix has released a first look trailer for their new feature film “Yes Man” directed by Miguel Arteta; the family flick is an adaptation of the novel written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and has a script from screenwriter Justin Malen. It stars Jennifer Garner, Édgar Ramírez, Jenna Ortega, Julian Lerner, Everly Carganilla, H.E.R., Nat Faxon, Molly Sims, Fortune Feimster, and Arturo Castro.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Always feeling like they have to say no to their kids and co-workers, Allison (Garner) and Carlos (Ramírez) decide to give their three kids a “yes day,” where for 24 hours, the kids make the rules. Little did they know that they’d be going on a whirlwind adventure around Los Angeles, that would bring the family closer to each other than ever before.
The team of producers includes Lawrence Grey, Ben Everard, Daniel Rappaport, Nicole King Solaka, and Jennifer Garner.
The streaming service’s latest family-focused film looks to be more than the regular generic fodder we’ve sadly attributed to the genre in recent years. It seems to skew a little more in the realm of a Judd Apatow project (visually), of course, less mature. This comes after Netflix’s widely successful “We Can Be Heroes” from writer/director Robert Rodriguez banked heavily on the family demographic, which could help boost the “Yes Day” appeal to a larger international audience.
“Yes Day” drops on Netflix on Friday, March 12. Watch the trailer below.
