‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ Honest Trailer: A Director Aims To Redeem A “Burnt Orange Tire Fire”

We are now two weeks removed from the release of “Zack Snyder’s Justice League.” And for the Snyder Cut faithful, this has been a time of celebration and motivation, as they now push for #RestoreTheSnyderverse. For the rest of humanity, it’s been two weeks since we saw a decent, if not boring version of a terrible superhero film that you probably shouldn’t have wasted four hours to watch again. Regardless, as with every major film release, it’s also time for Screen Junkies to take “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” to task with a near-10-minute Honest Trailer.

Obviously, Honest Trailers is a web video series that pokes fun at nearly every major release and points out some of the major flaws in the films. And with four hours of material to work with, it’s no surprise Screen Junkies created an extra-long video broken up into multiple chapters that are filled to the brim with jokes about Zack Snyder’s “bigger, longer, uncut” version of “Justice League.

The thesis for the Honest Trailer seems to be that Zack Snyder’s version of “Justice League” changed the film by “transforming it from a movie that was two hours long and terrible into a movie that is four hours long and mediocre.” And again, unless you’re a big fan of Zack Snyder, you can see that there’s a bit of truth to that comparison. So what did Snyder bring to the new cut of the film? Well, the Honest Trailer talks about the additions of “Amazonian horse violence,” “Atlantean blood-bending,” and “extreme sesame seed close-ups” among various other things.
