4-Minute Re-Edit Combines Ending Of 'Man Of Steel' With Opening Of 'Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice'

Everyone has their opinion on what Zack Snyder should have done with both “Man of Steel” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Few, however, can or will do anything about it. And while The Film Guy won’t have any impact on Snyder’s decisions, they can at least produce their own cut of the infamous Metropolis scene. Blending scenes from both recent DC superhero films, the channel released their version onto the world over the weekend, whether Snyder sees it or not.

Though it focuses largely on Bruce Wayne’s (Ben Affleck) grounds-eye view, the four-minute re-edit bounces between both Batman and Superman (Henry Cavill) during the catastrophic, building-collapsing, town-destroying events depicted at the end and beginning of both films. It even seemingly adds a few seconds from the recently-released “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ultimate Cut,” although I don’t know that for sure. As expected, the new take on the scene adds more sober impact to the already serious film(s), giving a greater sense of how much calamity ensued during this climatic battle.

It would have benefited the newest film to have this larger focus incorporated, therein by giving Batman a greater sense of anguish and distrust for Superman throughout the next two-or-three hours. But hey, I’m not the director here, nor are any of the guys over at The Film Guy. Nevertheless, they provide an interesting new take on both films, which is well-worth watching — no matter what your stance might be on Snyder’s recent work. And who knows? Maybe they’ll have some impact on next year’s “Justice League.” If not, they can always produce another edit of their own, right?
