Mothra, Rodan & King Ghidorah Confirmed For 'Godzilla 2'

In case you’re wondering, the franchise that Warner Bros. and Legendary are building around Godzilla and King Kong is officially called the MonsterVerse (yep, capitalized V and all) and for the next installment, they are not messing around. After getting a quick post-credits tease at the end of “Kong: Skull Island,” the rest of the classic creatures are going to come storming into the next picture.

Production has officially started on the sequel to “Godzilla” (apparently, it’s no longer called “Godzilla: King Of The Monsters“) and the official synopsis reveals that the big lizard is going to have his claws full:

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

Sounds like they’re aiming for something epic. Michael Dougherty (“Krampus”) is directing the film, that will star Vera Farmiga, Ken Watanabe, Sally Hawkins, Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Charles Dance, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds, and Zhang Ziyi.

“Godzilla: Title To Be Determined” opens on March 22, 2019 and if they don’t use MF Doom on the soundtrack, then I don’t even know what to say.
