New 'Blade Runner 2049' Trailer Returns To The Future

This weekend, studios will be elbowing each other to walk away from San Diego Comic Con with the biggest buzz for their blockbuster vehicles. It can be difficult to rise above the noise, so Warner Bros. is just side-stepping the fanboy fracas and getting ahead of the game with “Blade Runner 2049.”

The highly anticipated sequel to the Ridley Scott classic finds Denis Villeneuve in the driver’s seat. As you might expect from the filmmaker, no detail of the movie went unfussed over, and that includes choosing the players to participate. “This film had the longest and toughest casting I’ve ever done,” he told EW. “Each extra had to be chosen specifically for their look — we had to get the right faces to bring the right atmosphere to the right scene. Everything — the sets, the lights, the props, the vehicles — they are all saying something about our future.”
