Tilda Swinton Introduces You To The World Of Bong Joon Ho’s ‘Okja’ In Hilarious Viral Clip

We can think of a few films that might challenge it (we are getting new Paul Thomas Anderson, of course), but in general, Bong Joon Ho’s “Okja” might be the movie that we’re most looking forward to in 2017. The Korean director is one of the most exciting and talented filmmakers in the world right now: from “Memories Of Murder” through “The Host” to “Snowpiercer,” he’s been a consistently surprising and original director whose work is utterly distinctive.

His latest, “Okja,” sees him team up with both Brad Pitt’s Plan B and streaming giant Netflix, in the globetrotting story of a little girl and her genetically-modified pig pal, and features a terrific cast including Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhaal, Giancarlo Esposito, Lily Collins, Paul Dano and Steven Yeun. We got a brief teaser trailer a little while back, but now the most complete look at the film’s world has arrived with a viral video focusing on one of the two characters Swinton plays in the film, Lucy Mirando.

She’s there in her role as the head of the Mirando Corporation, which makes baked goods and Happy Pup Treats, but, as she explains, are on the course to stop pigs from having night terrors, and hope to cure them in order to bring you better tenderloin. As usual, Swinton is amazing here, and it’s only made us more excited to see the film. It’ll bow at Cannes sometime after May 17th, before hitting Netflix, and hopefully some theaters, on June 28th.
