13 March Films To Watch: ‘Project Hail Mary,’ ‘Peaky Blinders,’ ‘Hoppers’ & ’The Bride!’

Undertone
Premiering at the 2025 Fantasia, the sonic horror film “Undertone” is just one of two podcast-based films coming out this month. Nina Kiri stars as a podcast host who, while caring for her dying mother, listens to recordings of a pregnant couple’s paranormal encounters, only to realize they run parallel with her own life. The film is written and directed by Ian Tuason in his directorial debut. 
Release Date: In theaters March 13 via A24. 

Slanted” 
Written and directed by Amy Wang, “Slanted” provides a twist on body horror. The film follows a Chinese-American teenager who undergoes an experimental racial body transformation procedure in order to appear white for a better chance at winning prom queen. Shirley Chen stars alongside Mckenna Grace, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Amelie Zilber.
Release Date: In theaters March 13 via Bleecker Street. 

Alpha
The latest from director Julia Ducournau (“Raw,” “Titane”) sees the filmmaker returning to the world of horror. “Alpha” follows a 13-year-old who returns to school with a new tattoo and is ostracized and feared as others believe she’s contracted a lethal, bloodborne disease. Tahar Rahim, Golshifteh Farahani, Mélissa Boros, Emma Mackey, Finnegan Oldfield, and Louai El Amrousy all star. 
Release Date: In theaters March 13 via NEON. 

Project Hail Mary” 
Ryan Gosling stars in the latest film adapted from an Andy Weir novel, following the Matt Damon-led “The Martian.” Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and written by Drew Goddard, the story follows a science teacher who wakes up alone on a spaceship light-years from Earth, with no memory of how he ended up there. As he begins to regain his memory, he learns of his part in a mission to stop a mysterious substance from killing the sun. Sandra Hüller, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, and Milana Vayntrub round out the cast. 
Release Date: In theaters March 20 via Amazon MGM Studios. 

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come
The death games continue in “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come.” Samara Weaving reprises her role in the horror sequel as Grace, following her survival of the “game” that resulted in the death of her husband and in-laws. However, her fight for survival continues as she finds herself ensnared in a new game where the wealthiest and most influential families on earth have to Earth her or risk losing their power and fortunes. Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, David Cronenberg, Elijah Wood, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, and Nadeem Umar-Khitab star.
Release Date: In theaters March 20 via Searchlight Pictures.
