Way back in December it was announced that Benicio Del Toro, Laurent Cantet (”The Class”), Gaspar Noé (”Enter the Void”), Pablo Trapero (”Carancho”), Elia Suleiman, Julio Medem (”Sex and Lucia”) and Juan Carlos Tabio were teaming up to direct segments for the forthcoming omnibus film “7 Days In Havana,” and it looks like production is moving forward and the first bit of casting has been revealed.
Deadline reports that Josh Hutcherson (“The Kids Are All Right“) will star in Del Toro’s segment titled “Monday.” The short will be a fictionalized documentary about a tourist’s first 24 hours in Cuba as he experiences the culture and island for the first time.
Unlike other omnibus films, the segments will be united by reoccurring characters set to be played by Cuban actors Ana de Armas, Mirta Ibarra, Vladimir Cruz and Jorge Perugorria. Production on “7 Days In Havana” is currently underway in Cuba.
