Well, it certainly hasn’t taken long for Swedish actress Alicia Vikander to get recognized and become one of the most sought after young actresses working today. She broke out in 2012’s “A Royal Affair” next to Mads Mikkelsen and hasn’t looked back since bagging roles immediately in Hollywood projects such as “Anna Karenina" and "The Fifth Estate." And the roles kept coming. She’s already appeared in the indie sci-fi hit "Ex Machina" and "Son Of A Gun" this year, and we’ll be seeing her nonstop onscreen in 2015, including upcoming films like "The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” remake this summer, "Adam Jones" alongside Bradley Cooper, and Oscar-bait vehicles such as "The Danish Girl" and "Tulip Fever,” which could garner her awards notice.
It doesn’t stop there and all the hard work is paying off as more productions are lining up to leverage her talents. Deadline reports out of Cannes that Vikander is lining up two major roles, one alongside Matt Damon in Paul Greengrass’ untitled fifth ‘Bourne’ film, and the other in Justin Kurzel’s “Assassin’s Creed” starring Michael Fassbender and his “Macbeth” co-star Marion Cotillard again. These are two of the most highly anticipated projects of the next two years, so it indicates just how hot Vikander’s profile has become in the last few months.

Evidently these projects are also hot for the actress. It seems like she’ll likely drop out of the less coveted “The Circle” with Tom Hanks, because scheduling will be tricky (Emma Watson could evidently replace her). “Assassin’s Creed” is already scheduled to start shooting in late August and “Bourne 5” is expected to begin production in the early fall, so if she can manage both, she’ll likely shoot them back-to-back.
If the deals are made, "Assassin’s Creed" is slated to land in theaters December 21, 2016 and ‘Bourne’ is hoping for a relatively fast turn around and is set to hit theaters next summer, June 29, 2016. Evidently, Damon himself is writing the ‘Bourne 5’ screenplay with Greengrass and editor Christopher Rouse, who has worked on all the Greengrass’ helmed ‘Bourne’ films and the last four films the director has made.
Vikander has at least one more hot project that will be released sometime between her rash of 2015 appearances and her possible 2016 tentpoles: Derek Cianfrance‘s "The Light Between Oceans" co-starring Michael Fassbender and Rachel Weisz, which we assume will be saved of the festival season in 2016, but could turn up this fall as well.
