Watch: Opening Sequence From Quentin Tarantino Directed Episode Of ‘ER’

nullQuentin Tarantino has spent a good chunk of the year gearing up "The Hateful Eight," while also rallying for shooting and projecting on film, because anything else is what he calls "television in public." But Tarantino isn’t dissing the small screen format. In fact, at one time he tossed around the idea of turning "Django Unchained" into a 4-hour TV miniseries, and he’s gone behind the camera for network shows like "CSI: Las Vegas" (for a two-part episode) and "ER." For the latter, Tarantino proves that even within the confines and rules of an established show, one can find room to play.

The medical drama’s season one episode "Motherhood" finds Tarantino wasting no time making his imprint, with a dazzling opening long take that dances in and out of operating rooms and manages to touch upon almost every major character right off the top. Later on, Tarantino goes for the gusto in the aftermath of a fight between girl gang members.

It’s an interesting look at another side of Tarantino, particularly on the 20th anniversary of "Pulp Fiction."
