Got a Tip?

Mark Ruffalo Teases More Hulk In Marvel’s Phase 4, Potentially As “A Guru To Some Of The Younger Ones”

This year’s “Avengers: Endgame” marked the end of the road for some beloved heroes. While it’s clear that Chris Evans and Robert Downey, Jr. are gone for good, most of the original six Avengers are sticking around, including Chris Hemsworth (“Thor: Love & Thunder”), Scarlett Johansson (“Black Widow”), and Jeremy Renner (Disney+Hawkeye” series…maybe). And the sixth member, Mark Ruffalo doesn’t have any firm plans to come back to the MCU right now, but he definitely wants to be included moving forward.

Speaking to ComicBook.com, Ruffalo was asked if fans can expect to see more of his Bruce Banner/Hulk character in future MCU projects. The actor confirmed that there are “probably more” appearances in the future. And he goes so far as to offer up an intriguing idea for Banner’s role in the new MCU.

“I’d like to see him hang out with some of the new folks, you know?” Ruffalo said. “Maybe be like a guru to some of the younger ones.”

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who was next to him during the interview, responded, “That’s a good idea.”

The “younger ones” that Ruffalo refers to is likely going to include this new crop of heroes that are being introduced in the forthcoming Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This list includes Ms. Marvel, Kate Bishop/Hawkeye, Florence Pugh’s Black Widow, Moon Knight, Shang-Chi, and the Eternals. However, the most obvious project for Ruffalo to be included in is the upcoming “She-Hulk” series, which is expected to follow the story of Banner’s cousin Jennifer Walters, who turns into her own version of the big green superhero.

Obviously, we’ll have to wait and see, as many of these projects aren’t coming for at least two years. But at least fans will know that it’s likely that Hulk will be coming back eventually.
