Rachel Brosnahan has quickly become one of the best actresses working on TV today thanks to her Emmy-winning performance on the hit Amazon series, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” And now, it appears that Amazon is keeping her talents in-house with the new feature, “I’m Your Woman.”
As seen in the trailer for “I’m Your Woman,” Brosnahan stars as a housewife in the ‘70s that is married to a scummy thief. And when a job goes sideways, the wife and her baby are forced into hiding, where she has to learn how to take care of herself as danger quickly approaches.
The film stars Rachel Brosnahan, Arinzé Kene, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Bill Heck, and Frankie Faison. “I’m Your Woman” is directed by Julia Hart, who co-wrote the feature alongside Jordan Horowitz. Previously, Hart worked on the incredibly underrated “Fast Color” and the 2016 film, “Miss Stevens.” Her most recent film is “Stargirl,” which was released on Disney+ earlier this year.
“I’m Your Woman” is slated to kick off this year’s AFI Film Festival. And clearly, this is a project that Amazon believes might have some awards season hopes, considering its December release date. And honestly, given how the year is so strange with many high-profile films being pushed to 2021 and the Oscar season feeling a bit in disarray, there’s no way of knowing whether or not Hart and Brosnahan might be up for some trophies come early 2021.
“I’m Your Woman” will arrive in select theaters on December 4 before hitting Amazon Prime Video on December 11. You can watch the trailer below.
