'I Used To Be Famous' Trailer: Ed Skrein Stars As A Former Boy Band Member Trying To Hit It Big Again In Netflix's Feel-Good Drama

There are plenty of down-on-his-luck musician stories in films and TV series. However, the new Netflix film, “I Used to Be Famous,” hopes that there’s still a little more fuel in the tank as the film subgenre gets explored one more time.

As seen in the trailer for “I Used to Be Famous,” the film follows the story of Vince, a former member of a world-famous boy band, who now finds himself older and trying to hold on to any shred of fame he can. So, when he’s out in public practicing his music, he finds himself teaming up with an unlikely partner—an young drummer with autism spectrum disorder. Together, they hope to hit it big, but as you might expect, there are plenty of hardships along the way.

The film stars Ed Skrein and Leo Long as the musical duo. Skrein is probably best known for his villainous role in “Deadpool,” as well as “Game of Thrones” and “Alita: Battle Angel.” He’ll next be seen in Zack Snyder’s sci-fi epic, “Rebel Moon.” Long is a musician by trade who makes his acting debut in “I Used to Be Famous.”

“I Used to Be Famous” debuts on Netflix on September 16. You can watch the trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:

Vince (Ed Skrein) used to be in the hottest boy band around. Now he’s alone and desperate. An impromptu jam with Stevie (Leo Long), an autistic drummer with an incredible gift for rhythm, sparks an unexpected friendship. Together they form a unique bond through the power of music.
