'Circus Maximus' Trailer: Travis Scott's New Film Is Co-Directed By Harmony Korine, Gaspar Noé, Nicolas Winding Refn & More

Recently, we talked about a mysterious new film that Travis Scott was working on alongside Harmony Korine. While there is now more information about the film (it’s called “Aggro Dr1ft” and is set to premiere at Venice), that’s not the only project these two have been working on together. Perhaps even more interesting is a film called “Circus Maximus,” which is bringing together some of the best auteur filmmakers from around the world to direct a companion film to Scott’s newest album.

As seen in the teaser below, “Circus Maximus” is the latest project from rapper Travis Scott. And according to information from The Film Stage, the new film is 75 minutes and is said to be the visual accompaniment of Scott’s newest album, “Utopia.” As mentioned, segments of the film are directed by Scott and Korine, but there are also bits from filmmakers such as Gaspar Noé, Nicolas Winding Refn, Valdimar Jóhannsson, and Kahlil Joseph

Yes, that’s a film with directors Noé, Refn, Korine, and Jóhannsson. Yes, please!

Here’s the official description of the feature, which is expected to hit select theaters tomorrow:

Prepare to enter “CIRCUS MAXIMUS” as Travis Scott takes his audience on a mind-bending visual odyssey across the globe, woven together by the speaker rattling sounds of his highly anticipated upcoming album “UTOPIA.” The film is a surreal and psychedelic journey, uniting a collective of visionary filmmakers from around the world in a kaleidoscopic exploration of human experience and the power of soundscapes.

Obviously, that description and the teaser below don’t really give you much of an indication of what “Circus Maximus” truly is. But with the filmmakers involved, this is going to be something people will be dying to see.
