Earlier this year, surprising just about everyone, Chris Pratt scored a huge box office win as the voice of Mario in “The Super Mario Bros. Movie.” This came after fans were originally really upset over the actor’s casting. However, once the film was released and earned way more than $1 billion, it’s like the controversy never happened. Now, Pratt returns to animation to voice another iconic character in “The Garfield Movie.”
Yes, that’s right, Chris Pratt is voicing everyone’s favorite lasagna-loving feline in “The Garfield Movie.” As seen in the trailer, the film follows Garfield as he is shocked to be reunited with his long lost father and is forced to go on an adventure.
Joining Chris Pratt in the voice cast are Samuel L. Jackson, Hannah Waddingham, Ving Rhames, Nicholas Hoult, Cecily Strong, Harvey Guillén, Brett Goldstein, and Bowen Yang. Interestingly, Mark Dindal is directing the film. This marks the first feature for the director since 2005’s “Chicken Little.” Previous to that, he was the director on the Disney film “The Emperor’s New Groove” way back in 2000.
“Garfield” is expected to arrive in theaters in Summer 2024. You can watch the trailer below.
