Yes, we’re still in the summer, but fall film festival season is right around the corner. And today, we finally have the full lineup of films coming to the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
According to TIFF, the event has announced 20 new films that are being added to the final lineup of the festival. Perhaps the biggest new World Premiere film is “Shell” by actor-turned-filmmaker Max Minghella. The dark comedy/body horror stars Elisabeth Moss, Kaia Gerber, and Kate Hudson. Other World Premieres include Karrie Crouse and Will Joines’ “Hold Your Breath,” Nick Hamm’s “William Tell,” Daniel Minahan’s “On Swift Horses,” John Maggio’s “Paul Anka: His Way,” Samir Oliveros’ “The Luckiest Man in America,” Marianne Elliott’s “The Salt Path,” Karen Chapman’s “Village Keeper,” and Marie-Hélène Viens and Philippe Lupien’s “You Are Not Alone.”
In addition to those films, TIFF is welcoming some from other festivals too. Those include Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis,” Jason Reitman’s “Saturday Night,” and Pedro Almodóvar’s “The Room Next Door.” Those are all expected to be some of the most talked-about films of the fall, as we approach awards season.
