Director Scott Cooper‘s highly anticipated Bruce Springsteen feature drama, “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere,” starring Jeremy Allen White, is heading to the big screen later this month and has landed a final trailer.
The upcoming pic focuses on Springsteen’s recording of his album “Nebraska” in 1982 and all the dramatic events surrounding the creation. Others among the impressive cast are Jeremy Strong as Springsteen’s long-time confidant and manager, Jon Landau; Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan; Odessa Young as Faye; Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father, Doug; Gaby Hoffman as Springsteen’s mother, Adele; and David Krumholtz as Columbia executive, Al Teller.
Affectionally referred to as The Boss, the iconic New Jersey musician became a voice for blue-collar Americans throughout the years (alongside those who felt like outsiders) and would lend his voice to the Tom Hanks/Denzel Washington Oscar-winning AIDS legal drama “Philadelphia,” where Springsteen earned a Best Original Song statue for his tear-jerking tune “Streets of Philadelphia” in 1994. For many, Springsteen has often been able to capture a powerful relationship with his global fanbase by coming off as a genuine and likable rock star.
Cooper, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Eric Robinson, and Scott Stuber produce alongside a team of executive producers that consists of Tracey Landon, Jon F. Vein, and author Warren Zanes. “Deliver Me From Nowhere” also has a score from composer Jeremiah Fraite.
An official synopsis for Springsteen biopic courtesy of 20th Century Studios:
The film, which will show audiences the man behind the music, chronicles the making of Bruce Springsteen’s 1982 “Nebraska” album. Recorded on a 4-track recorder in Springsteen’s New Jersey bedroom, the album marked a pivotal time in his life and is considered one of his most enduring works—a raw, haunted acoustic record populated by lost souls searching for a reason to believe.
