The holidays are fast approaching which means after the presents are unwrapped and the allocated family time is complete you’re going to have some free time and grandma’s Christmas money to spend. Thus, it’s the perfect opportunity to catch up with all the acclaimed movies and TV you’ve been missing out on in 2013.

To help, The American Film Institute has unveiled their official AFI AWARDS 2013  highlighting “10 outstanding films and 10 outstanding television programs deemed culturally and artistically representative of the year’s most significant achievements in the art of the moving image.” And so, on the big screen all the usual names you’ve been hearing over the past few weeks are represented here in force, with a list that doesn’t rock the boat or surprise too hard. Meanwhile, the TV list is much the same with the celebrated programs you’ve been hearing about over the last twelve months making a showing here.
