Oh will play a lonesome, isolated woman who finds her world turned upside down when her manic sister (Awkwafina) re-enters into her life. Awkwafina’s character intends to repair her relationship with her sister by helping her become a contestant on a game show.

Although Oh is most recently known for her Emmy-nominated role in “Killling Eve,” she has boasted her comedic chops throughout her career in roles in “Catfight,” “Tammy,” and, recently, in Netflix’s “Over the Moon.” Awkwafina won us all over in 2018 with “Ocean’s 8” and “Crazy Rich Asians,” as well as last year’s incredible film, “The Farewell.” She will appear in upcoming Disney productions “The Little Mermaid” and “Raya and the Last Dragon.”

Gloria Sanchez Productions was responsible for two of last year’s most memorable female-forward comedies, “Hustlers” and “Booksmart.” Screenwriter D’Angelo boasts an impressive run with “Workaholics” and is currently tapped to pen the “Hocus Pocus” sequel for Disney+.

While there is no details about which filmmaker will take over, with Oh and Awkwafina involved, we should expect a pretty great director to step up to the plate. Remember, this is Netflix, a company that isn’t shy about spending money to get the top talent on big projects like this. And with the talent pool that has already signed up for this feature, it’s likely that Netflix will want to make sure the film turns into a sure-fire hit for the platform.

The impressive resumes for all of the involved players leave us hopeful for Netflix’s newest comedic effort.
