Believe it or not, Anna Kendrick and Seth Rogen have only starred in one movie together, 2011’s “50/50.” That’s about to change, as Variety reports that the pair will team up again on the upcoming dramedy, “Babies.”
Set in LA, the ensemble film stars Kendrick and Rogen as a couple unsure of whether they want kids, but become instant co-parents when their newly divorced friend moves into their home with her 3-year-old. Will this set-up bring them one step closer to having a child, or will it be a recipe for disaster?
Rogen’s wife Lauren Miller Rogen writes and directs “Babies,” her first film since 2018’s “Like Father.” She also produces with Jen W. Ray via Lylas Pictures. Other producers on the film include AGC Studios‘ chairman and CEO Stuart Ford, Miguel A. Palos, Jr. and Zach Garrett, Monarch Media‘s partner and CEO Steve Barnett, Alan Powell, and Vicky Patel. Sophie Høegh serves as executive producer via Lylas Pictures.
Kendrick’s recent credits include “Another Simple Favor” and “Woman Of The Hour,” which was also her feature directorial debut. She stars next in Chris Rock‘s directing debut over at A24; Adam Driver and Daniel Kaluuya also star in that one.
As for Rogen, he’s fresh off of “The Studio,” a massive hit for Apple TV+ that scored 23(!) Emmy nominations. The show is Rogen’s baby, a project he stars in, writes, directs, and produces. Up next, he stars in “Platonic” Season 2, also on Apple TV+, and Aziz Ansari‘s “Good Fortune,” in theaters on October 17. Also on the way for Rogen: Olivia Wilde‘s comedy “The Invite.” On the producing side of things, Rogen also has “Gen V” and the final season of “The Boys” on the way.
“Babies” looks to start shooting in LA this November, so expect it in theaters sometime in late 2026.
