Casting: Jake Gyllenhaal Makes It 'Snow' With Antoine Fuqua; Isla Fisher Meets 'The Jonses' & More

Jake Gyllenhaal and Antoine FuquaWe celebrated Jake Gyllenhaal‘s recent spate of success by highlighting five roles that reignited his career. For all the moves he’s made towards interesting projects, with fascinating directors, we didn’t think Antoine Fuqua would be high on his list of filmmakers to reteam with. We were wrong.

Fresh from working with together on the boxing pic "Southpaw," the pair will reunite for "The Man Who Made It Snow." Based on the autobiography by Max Mermelstein, the story follows "the only American who was in the inner circle of the Colombian cartels in the go-go 1980s." Promising we suppose, but then again, this is the director who made the ridiculous and tone-deaf "The Equalizer," so who knows. No word yet on when it might shoot, but Brent Tabor wrote the script. Isla Fisher is joining Jon Hamm and Zach Galifianakis in Greg Mottola‘s "Keeping Up With The Jonses." The brewing comedy follows "a suburban couple who discover their picture-perfect new neighbors are actually undercover spies." Ruh-roh! [The Wrap]

Ryan Kwanten, Freida Pinto, and Mickey Rourke came together for the movie "Blunt Force Trauma," and it has actually already wrapped. The story follows "a young man and a vengeful woman who meet on their quest to locate the clandestine" champion of the underground gun fight scene in South America. Yeah, we’ll likely be catching up with this on VOD. Ken Sanzel ("Numb3rs") directs. [Screen Daily]
