The second season of Loren Bouchard’s “Central Park” is back with a vengeance, as well as promises of evil condo owners, high notes, hot dogs, and macaroni. The new trailer gives more or less what you’d expect from the creator of “Bob’s Burgers,” focused on a weirdo family dynamic and the other strange and loveable people in their orbit, with an eclectic voice cast to match. Also notable is the recasting of main character Molly, who was previously played by Kristen Bell, now played by Emmy Raver-Lampman after criticisms over the white actress playing a mixed-race character. The first three episodes of the second season of the Emmy Award-nominated series will debut worldwide next Friday, June 25, on Apple TV+, with the remaining five episodes premiering on a weekly basis every Friday. The second half of season two is due later this year with additional episodes.
Here’s the official synopsis:
In season two of “Central Park,” the Tillerman family continues to navigate living in and caring for the world’s most famous park. Molly experiences the trials and tribulations of adolescence, Cole is challenged by a truly embarrassing moment at school, Paige continues to chase down the Mayor’s corruption story and Owen juggles managing the park, his staff and his family all with a smile on his face. Meanwhile, Bitsy inches ever closer to her sinister goal of claiming Central Park as her own; with Helen by her side, eternally wondering whether she’s made it into Bitsy’s will. Every step of the way, we are guided along by our friendly, fumbling, fiddler narrator, Birdie.
The first season of “Central Park” is available on Apple TV+. Season 2 premieres on 25 June. The series stars Josh Gad, Leslie Odom Jr., Daveed Diggs, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Kathryn Hahn, Tituss Burgess, and Stanley Tucci. Watch the new trailer below.
