We’re starting to suspect that Charlize Theron is planning on cloning herself. It was only on Friday that news emerged that the Oscar-winner, hotter than ever after the success of “Prometheus” and “Snow White & The Huntman,” had signed on to a new comedy called “Ladies Night,” adding to the long list of bubbling projects that also includes sci-fi “Agent 13“ with Rupert Wyatt, Scott Derrickson‘s horror “Zwart Water,” crime thriller “Cities of Refuge,” John Madden‘s “Murder Mystery,” a biopic of Marie Colvin, a remake of “Sympathy For Lady Vengeance,” Seth MacFarlane‘s comedy “A Million Days To Die In The West,” and an adaptation of Gillian Flynn‘s “Dark Places.”
And now she’s only gone and added another, with Heat Vision reporting that the actress has set up an as-yet-untitled crime movie at Paramount through her Denver and Delilah shingle, in which she’ll star and produce. Written by Dan Nowak, a writer on “The Killing,” it apparently focuses on a corrupt vigilante group, and is drawing comparisons to “End Of Watch” and “The Departed,” which is confusing both because they’re very different movies, and because the premise sounds more like the Nicolas Cage/Guy Pearce film “Seeking Justice.”
But with Theron involved and Nowak writing, we’re sure it’ll be less schlocky than that. There’s no word as yet as to when the film will shoot; MacFarlane’s “A Million Ways To Die” is next, with plenty more competing to follow, so this is likely a ways off. But if nothing else, it cements Theron (who’ll next be seen in “Mad Max: Fury Road“) as the busiest actress in Hollywood right now.
