Discover Christopher Nolan's Desert Island Discs In This Podcast

Ever since “Dunkirk” came out last summer, Christopher Nolan has been busy on the interview circuit chatting up his Oscar nominated WWII movie. Anything you want to know about his unique epic is probably already out there. However, the fiercely private director rarely talks about his personal life, but this episode of BBC Radio 4‘s “Desert Island Discs” does open a compelling window into the music that inspires the filmmaker.

If you’re not familiar with basic concept of the show, on each episode, a guest breaks down eight recordings, a book and a luxury item they would take with them to a desert island. As you might imagine, the conversation with Nolan is fascinating. Among the tracks he selects are Hans Zimmer‘s “Journey To The Line” from “The Thin Red Line” score, Radiohead‘s “Paranoid  Android,” a David Bowie track, and a composition by Schubert.

It’s terrific stuff, and well worth firing up on your lunch break. Listen below.
