On January 15, 2009 Captain Chesley Burnett "Sully" Sullenberger III flew into a flock of birds, had the left engine on his plane catch fire, and in order to save the lives of everyone on board, made a successful crash landing in the Hudson River. He immediately became a media darling, America’s Captain Sully, and now his life is getting the movie treatment.
Clint Eastwood has signed on to direct the movie which be based on the book, "Highest Duty: My Search For What Really Matters" by Sullenberger and Jeffrey Zaslow. Todd Komarnicki ("Perfect Stranger") is writing the script about not only what happened on US Airways Flight 1549, but behind the scenes too with Sully’s career on the line. Here’s the book synopsis:
