Got a Tip?

Ellen Page To Star In Apocalyptic ‘Into The Forest’

Ellen PageEllen Page has been keeping it pretty low key lately. Since "Inception" in 2010, she's only had a couple of other feature films, James Gunn's low-fi "Super" and last summer's Woody Allen jaunt "To Rome With Love," but fans will be seeing more of her in 2013. In fact, at Sundance starting next week, the actress has roles in two films, Lynn Shelton's "Touchy Feely" and Zal Batmanglij's thriller "The East" and it looks like she'll be keeping busy.

Granted, there isn't much info to go on, but last night Variety tweeted that Page is attached to star in an adaptation of Jean Hegland's "Into The Forest." No directors, screenwriters, producers or other info has been revealed, but it looks like a promising, small-scale movie. The story centers on two teenage sisters, living alone in rural Northern California, as society seemingly comes apart around them. Here's the synopsis from Amazon:

Set in the near-future, Into the Forest is a powerfully imagined novel that focuses on the relationship between two teenage sisters living alone in their Northern California forest home. Over 30 miles from the nearest town, and several miles away from their nearest neighbor, Nell and Eva struggle to survive as society begins to decay and collapse around them. No single event precedes society's fall. There is talk of a war overseas and upheaval in Congress, but it still comes as a shock when the electricity runs out and gas is nowhere to be found. The sisters consume the resources left in the house, waiting for the power to return. Their arrival into adulthood, however, forces them to reexamine their place in the world and their relationship to the land and each other.

Again, not much further info, but the material sounds great. Now the key question: who should star opposite her? Let us know your thoughts below.
