Henry Cavill Says 'Man Of Steel' Is All Zack Snyder

Man Of SteelIt’s a new day, so you know what that means: a “Man Of Steel” update. From the very beginning we’ve heard how much more grounded and serious Zack Snyder’s take on the iconic character would be — he recently called it his “most realistic” film — and while many chalked it up to Christopher Nolan’s influence (he’s an executive producer on the movie and his name gets plenty of play in the trailers), Superman himself sets the record straight.

Talking with F*** Movie Magazine (via Screenrant), Henry Cavill elaborated on what Nolan’s role was during the actual production, saying the lauded filmmaker “wasn’t there during production itself, although I’m not sure how much work was done behind the scenes. I’m sure Zack had a phone call or two with him, but this is definitely Zack’s baby. He was the man in charge, and we created the character together, as opposed to having too many outside influences.”

Nolan himself told us as much last winter, saying about “Man Of Steel” that “it’s very much Zack’s film.” And when it came to questions of character, Cavill reiterates it was just him and Snyder, hashing things out. “It’s a collaborative process and Zack wants us to talk to him about stuff and work with him on his ideas,” the actor said. “If you say, ‘How about I do this,’ he’ll say ‘I don’t know if I like it yet, but give it a shot.’”

There you go, folks, for better or worse it all comes down to Snyder. We can’t wait to see how he pulls it off. “Man of Steel” lands in theaters on June 14th.
