Pajiba’s inside scoopers have informed them that Jennifer Garner and Anna Faris are set to star in the romantic comedy “The Bachelorette Party.”
With a script by Karen Lutz, who wrote such laff fests as “The House Bunny” and “The Ugly Truth,” we’re not holding our breath that this recently rebooted project is going to be anything but terrible. Apparently put back into development after the success of “The Hangover,” the film is about “a high-school teacher recently left at the altar [who] must now send off her uptight cousin with a huge bachelorette bash. The cousin is marrying the teacher’s best male friend. During a drunken bachelorette party, the uptight cousin betrays her fiance with a drunken indiscretion, leaving the teacher to decide where her loyalties lie.”
Is it just us, or does this sound exactly like the long-gestating Ron Howard comedy “Your Cheating Heart” with Vince Vaughn & Kevin James attached that we reported yesterday?
There is no word yet on when this will start filming, but with each actress having only one official project set to go in front of the camera – “Butter” for Garner and “Yogi Bear” for Farris – we wouldn’t be surprised if they jump to this one next.
