Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley, Michael Peña & Judy Dench Investigate 'Murder On The Orient Express'

It’s the “Dark Shadows” reunion you’ve been waiting for! Well, maybe not, but earlier this week, word came that two stars from Tim Burton‘s campy 2012 flop — Johnny Depp and Michelle Pfeiffer — were being eyed for Kenneth Branagh‘s “Murder On The Orient Express.” Well, it looks like the movie is leaving the station as a full ensemble of players have been revealed for the project.

Depp and Pfeiffer will be joined by Daisy Ridley, Michael Peña, Judi Dench, Leslie Odom Jr., Tom Bateman, Lucy Boynton and Derek Jacobi in the adaptation of Agatha Christie‘s famed novel about a mysterious murder aboard the titular train. Don’t worry, Depp won’t be breaking out his “Mortdecai” gear for this one; Branagh himself will be playing Hercule Poirot. Rather, Depp will take the role of Ratchett, the victim of the crime, with Pfeiffer as Mrs. Hubbard, Ridley as Mary Debenham, Dench as Princess Dragomiroff, Pena as Marquez, Odom Jr. as Doctor Arbuthnot, and Bateman as Bouc.

Michael Green (“Blade Runner 2“) has penned the script for this one, which looks like it’s going to deliver on its promise of telling Christie’s tale with all-star cast. “Murder On The Orient Express” opens on November 22, 2017. [The Hollywood Reporter]
