Even though Jordan Peele has only released two feature films as a director, we’re starting to notice a trend. First, the film is likely going to be a horror-thriller. And second, there’s going to be an insane amount of secrecy surrounding it. And it appears that for his third film, this trend will continue.

According to Deadline, Jordan Peele has a new film on the horizon, but the only thing we really know about it, right now, is that it’s arriving in July 2022. Yes, that means we’ll have to wait just under two years to see what Peele has up his sleeve to follow on the heels of “Get Out” and “Us.” Both of those films were critically acclaimed and went on to make huge money at the box office. So, to say there’s quite a bit of hype already for whatever Peele is working on next is an understatement.
The report does say the film will be a horror feature, which, again, isn’t all that surprising. However, when we talk about horror and Jordan Peele, we know that whatever his hook is for the next film will be steeped in some sort of social commentary. Another assumption that will probably turn out to be true is that the filmmaker will find a great cast to act in his film. As far as leads go, he’s already knocked it out of the park twice with Daniel Kaluuya and Lupita Nyong’o in “Get Out” and “Us,” respectively.
One interesting change about the new untitled horror film from Jordan Peele is the release date. For the first two features, they were released in the early part of the year. This film, though, is getting the prime July slot for Universal. Not only that, the studio is so confident, it scheduled Peele’s film just a week after the recently announced new date for “Fantastic Beasts 3.” Clearly, Universal isn’t scared of tackling the ‘Harry Potter’ spinoff head on.
