'Justice League' Will Be "Much More Fun" Than 'Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice'

The sound you hear continuing to come from anybody working on DC Films projects (who isn’t Zack Snyder) is the screech of a major franchise being turned around completely on a dime. After “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” turned many off which its super serious and dour tone, Warner Bros. tried to make amends quickly, and it was part of the reason “Suicide Squad” underwent extensive reshoots last spring. However, no one articulates the pivot toward lighter and breezier more clearly than “Aquaman” screenwriter Will Beall.

Chatting with Collider, the screenwriter made it clear that the serious tone established in Zack Snyder’s film will be ditched for “Aquaman,” and even for “Justice League.”

“It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be really fun. What we’ve come up with and [director] James [Wan] especially — he has a really clear idea of the tone he’s going to have, and I think ‘Aquaman’ is one that’s going to blow people’s minds, not just visually, but I think the story and the scope of it is really great,” Beall enthused.

“I think ‘Justice League’ again is, what you’re going to see — I hope I’m not going to get in trouble for saying this — but it’s much more fun, much poppier, than … I haven’t seen ‘Wonder Woman‘ yet, but ‘Batman vs Superman’ was a little more somber. But’ Justice League’ is a lot more fun. And I think that feels to me like the direction those movies are heading now,” he added.

So, it sounds like DC Films is steering toward the lighter style of the Marvel movies. Fanboys, argue amongst yourselves….

“Justice League” lands on November 17th.
