Keanu Reeves Says Wyld Stallyns Will Have "Lost Their Rock" In 'Bill & Ted's 3'

nullWe always sort of figured "Bill & Ted's 3" would be like "Ghostbusters 3," something people like to talk about but that would never actually happen. And while Dan Aykroyd keeps dreaming about his movie coming together, fans of the Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter franchise got a surprise boost of good news last week when it was revealed that Dean Parisot ("Galaxy Quest," "Red 2") was now attached to direct. And more word on the project today as a few more details have dropped about what the story may entail.

"One of the plot points is that these two people have been crushed by the responsibility of having to write the greatest song ever written and to change the world. And they haven't done it. So everybody is kind of like: 'Where is the song?' The guys have just drifted off into esoterica and lost their rock," Reeves told GQ. "And we go on this expedition, go into the future to find out if we wrote the song, and one future 'us' refuses to tell us, and another future 'us' blames us for their lives because we didn't write the song, so they're living this terrible life. In one version we're in jail; in another we're at some kind of highway motel and they hate us."

Yep, sounds like a 'Bill & Ted's' movie to us, and it looks like they've fallen on hard times, though never count those two rockin' dudes out. The big question we want to know is who, if anyone, will possibly replace Rufus, played by George Carlin, from the first two movies. Hopefully, the third installment will find a way to carry on without him.

Yet, despite the movement, this one is still a bit of a way off. Reeves is still working on his directorial debut "Man Of Tai Chi," and Parisot will have to knock out the "Red" sequel first. Not only that, but financing and all that other fun stuff still has to come together. But the elements are there, and it seems this picture continues to move forward.
