First announced last spring, we kinda forgot about “Alive Alone,” but it looks like it’s gearing up though with a couple of changes. Matthias Schoenaerts has dropped out, and Idris Elba and Sam Worthington have stepped into the movie that will find Stringer Bell playing “an ex-detainee of Guantanamo Bay working as a taxi driver, and Rapace plays a prostitute on the run from a feared crime boss (Worthington). When their worlds collide, they unexpectedly find salvation in one another.” Wasn’t this kinda the plot of “Dead Man Down“? Khurram Longi directs with production starting next month. [Deadline]
Famke Janssen is keeping it in the family starring in the Dutch language “The Hero” set to be directed by her sister Antoinette Beumer, from a script by her other sister Marjolein Beumer. Based on the novel by Jessica Durlacher, the story “follows a Holocaust survivor who seeks revenge after masked men break into her house and shoot her husband and she is assaulted in the woods.” [ScreenDaily]
Lastly, John Travolta has signed up for a voice role in “Gummy Bear.” Yes, that’s what it’s called. The animated 2D/3D film was penned by George Gallo (“Bad Boys,” “Midnight Run“) and it tells the story of “Gummy and his friends a vegetarian vampire bat, a cat and a chameleon, fighting to save an alien planet from destruction.” WTF.
